This red jacket is displayed in a museum in Taiwan. It is a fantastic example of the weaving patterns popular among some of the indigenous peoples of Taiwan, who arrived thousands of years ago, long before the Chinese arrived. The aboriginal Formosans exist with identities in over fifteen tribes and bands, and they try to preserve their languages and cultures. Some of the weavers and tailors among the tribes make exquisite objects such as this vest.
