Silk Hemming Option

Unlike a lot of other silk digital fabric printing services, Bags of Love offers a hemming option. Most textile designers need to start somewhere and digitally printed scarfs are a good way to get designs out to the public. You can now get your scarves hemmed with us for a little extra cost. We create a small one fold hem that typically uses 0.2" of material if you order 39.3'' (100cm) expect your fabric to be approx. 39'' (hem and shrinkage). We have black or white thread set up and we will use either to best match your designs. On our silk and other light woven fabrics one hemmed edge will be straight and the other will be slightly rippled.

How Would You Like the Edge?

  • As it comes. We cut around your image, leaving a rough scissor cut, perhaps uneven white fabric border.
  • Hem with thread. We can hem your fabric with a choice of black or white thread. Please allow 1-2 days additional production time. See below for information on how hemming affects the size of your print.
  • Cut on the line. We precisely cut on the edge of your image.

A Fashion Designers Dream

Custom designed silk can be used for a number of things. Fashion designers can have their textiles printed onto real silk to be turned into scarves, wraps, silk ties, luxury garments, lingerie, dresses, curtains, pillow cases, the list is endless. Couture designers, silk tie makers, bridal and lingerie makers and fashion and design students alike use our custom printed silk. Occasionally film and theater productions use our services for scene or dressmaking, Interior designers also use our products for special requirements in fine detailing luxury finishes.

Printing on Natural Fabrics

These gorgeous silk fabrics are 100% natural, so no chemicals have been used on the fibers, retaining its authentic luster and pearl-like base tone. The colors are still rich, but less intense than poly fabrics. To achieve more saturated colors on real silk printing, we suggest increasing the contrast of your design or opt for our Silk Sensation, a poly-blend material. If in doubt, we always suggest to order a fabric sample or swatch pack before ordering, to see how colors come out on real silk and what the material feels like.

Due to the print process large areas of solid color may show minor blemishes or discoloration. This is to be expected and we would advise avoiding large solid blocks of color if possible.

TIP: The Silk Georgette fabric is an amazing and very delicate stretchy fabric, slightly wavy hems are to be expected. Due the delicate nature and super soft handle of the real silks the edges can be wavy after hemming, especially on the Georgette. We print silk on one side, and whilst there is a 100% show through on the Georgette silk, the satin has limited show through (20%) and in essence one side looks unprinted. You can be assured of intense, strong colors.

Care of your printed silk: Treat this beautiful material well and it will stay silky and bright for year after year. We recommend dry cleaning only. Wet washing will damage the natural silk textile and print. Treat carefully, as it is a delicate material that can pull if caught.

3 year guarantee on fabric structure 2 year guarantee on silk printing if dry cleaning instructions followed.

Make a Collage

If you can’t decide on which photo to use, you can upload multiple images and create a photo collage. This can be done using one of our pre-set montage templates, or you can create your own entirely from scratch. It’s super easy to do and the possibilities are endless.

photo collage

How to add your collage to your product

Step 1 – Click the start design button & select your product options.

Step 2 – Go to the ‘Images & Text Tools’ tab, click the ‘add images/Text’ button on your product & ‘Select Images to Upload’ or use the Facebook/Instagram tabs.

Step 3 – Choose the images you want to use for your collage, upload & select them from the uploaded photos list.

Step 4 – Click ‘Create montage’ & select your collage style.

Step 5 – Add the collage to your design.

Hints and Tips

  • The more images you add to your collage the smaller each image will be. Fewer images will be larger and give you more clarity and detail.
  • The more people in an image, the less detail there will be. If you have 10 images of a group of five friends, each person will be smaller than if you have 10 images on just one person.
  • Try to make sure that the longest side of each image is around 3.93". There is a handy ruler built into the design tool to help you with this.
  • Smaller products will not be able to fit as many images as larger ones will.
