Slip Dress with Batik Star Pattern

This long slip dress has alternating nine-pointed stars made from a photograph of Javanese batik designs from the early and mid 20th century. It therefore has colors typical of the textiles of Indonesia from generations ago, but the design is transformed into a celebration of geometry and nine-pointed star patterns. The impression is softer and more restrained than many of the other designs here. This dress might be just the thing for someone who likes Indonesian batik.
