The base of the custom rugs is made from our anti-slip latex sponge, with a jute rug binder to give it extra strength. The rug pile is our Velvet Shimmer or Marbled Velvet fabric which slides over skin effortlessly with no resistance. The surface of your customized rugs has a lustrous sheen, reflecting the light nicely. Quite simply, when you create your own rug, it feels and looks divine.

For your Information: Our Velvet Shimmer fabric has been tested for colorfastness and abrasion testing. It passes both standard tests with flying colors. (BS EN ISO 12497:1998 Abrasion testing Scores 4. BS EN ISO 105-X12:2002 Color Fastness Test Scores 4-5)
All custom printed rugs are handmade to order, carefully cutting and hand stitching to ensure the finish is of the highest standards. The natural cotton fringe is hand sewn into place should you desire to include this style option: We offer fringing options for both or just one edge of your custom rugs. Our specialist printing process goes deep into the velvet fibers, so your design will resist fading.
Please note: As a result of the production process, there is an odor that emits from the base of the custom photo rug. This is normal and temporary; it will air out within a few days.
Care: As with most rugs or carpets, a regular vacuum is ideal for custom rugs at Contrado. Do not put personalized rugs in the washing machine. If necessary, gently wipe with a damp cloth and keep your custom made rugs in prime condition for years to come. Do not use near fireplaces or burning coals/wood.
